Personal Mission

"I am, and always will be, the optimist.  The hoper of far-flung hopes and the dreamer of improbable dreams."

--The Doctor from Doctor Who, describing my own desire to think positively and dream big

Personal Mission

As I enter my first full-time position in student affairs, I do so with the intent of being a positive and developmental force in students lives.  I believe that such a goal is possible through the application of student development theory and by taking a student-centered approach in my work, programming, and conversations with my colleagues throughout the institution.

I believe that being a quality member of any community involves actively engaging in the life and work of the institution and all of its members (students, faculty, staff, etc) regardless of their background.

Finally, I believe promoting both autonomy and accountability within students' academic and personal lives, so that they may leave the college experience prepared to be a positive member of society.
